{"id":265,"date":"2020-11-23T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/caam.tech\/?p=265"},"modified":"2020-11-20T20:07:11","modified_gmt":"2020-11-21T04:07:11","slug":"caamtech-to-talk-aeruginascin-at-pharmacology-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caam.tech\/caamtech-to-talk-aeruginascin-at-pharmacology-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"CaaMTech to Talk Aeruginascin at Pharmacology 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CaaMTech CEO, <a href=\"https:\/\/caam.tech\/team\/andrew-chadeayne\/\">Dr. Andrew Chadeayne<\/a>, will present at the British Pharmacological Society\u2019s Pharmacology 2020 conference in a session titled \u201cRecent Findings on Psychedelics for Treating Mental Illness.\u201d&nbsp; Dr. Chadeayne will discuss CaaMTech\u2019s research that investigated aeruginascin, its active metabolite, 4-HO-TMT, and <a href=\"https:\/\/caam.tech\/caamtech-synthesizes-novel-tryptamine-prophoria-amphoria\/\">a novel synthetic prodrug of the latter<\/a>.&nbsp; The research, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/doi\/10.1021\/acsomega.0c02208\"><em>Active Metabolite of Aeruginascin (4-Hydroxy<\/em><em>\u2011<\/em><em>N,N,N<\/em><em>\u2011<\/em><em>trimethyltryptamine): Synthesis, Structure, and Serotonergic Binding Affinity<\/em><\/a> was published in July in the American Chemical Society\u2019s prestigious peer-reviewed journal, <em>ACS Omega<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session, \u201cRecent Findings on Psychedelics for Treating Mental Illness\u201d, will be hosted by Prof. Dr. Craig Lindsley of Vanderbilt University.&nbsp; In addition to his role as Professor of Pharmacology, Biochemistry, &amp; Chemistry, Dr. Lindsley is Director of Medicinal Chemistry in the Vanderbilt Program in Drug Discovery and Director of the Vanderbilt Specialized Chemistry Center (MLPCN), and will become director of Vanderbilt University\u2019s Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery (WCNDD) on December 1st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Chadeayne will join renowned psychedelic researchers Drs. Charles Nichols, David Olson and Kim Kuypers in giving talks for the session.&nbsp; Dr. Charles D. Nichols was Louisiana State University\u2019s most-cited researcher in 2019 where he focuses his research efforts on the 5-HT<sub>2A<\/sub> receptor and works as a Professor of Pharmacology. Dr. David E. Olson\u2019s lab at the University of California Davis focuses on psychoplastogens and Dr. Olson has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles on the effects of N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and related compounds.&nbsp; Dr. Kim P.C.
